Tips in creating Banners in PS

Post by Ame »

A long ago I use to make edits like these in PS, like banners and avatars and signatures for forums. But now, I've come across some really cool site banners that I've tried to replicate but I've had no idea how to. So I was wondering if someone here has tips or tutorials in how to make these banners?
spoiler!

I tried to make one for my site but scrapped because I didn't liked the result

I make these sometimes! Honestly it's all about brushes and textures. I made a mini tutorial here! There is a bajillion free resources on deviantart. Basically layer the different stuff together, put a PNG of the person/character/thing and mess with the colors and layers. This site is also great for taking the background off to make a transparent png ;)

Thanks, I'll check the tutorial. I used to have a big collection of patterns, gradients, fonts and brushes when I did my edits back then. But I didn't back up when I got a new computer because I wasn't doing edits anymore, so now I'll have to replace everything and it'll take awhile  I know about remove.bg but it sometimes don't work for me because it crop parts of the image, so I normally use the magic wand tool.
