Would anyone be interested in a fashion chitchat thread? What clothes / styles / colors do you guys wear? Any people from fashion subcultures? Anyone into historical fashion? Any seamstresses here? Color seasons? Even just ranting? Raving? Rant:
spoiler!
I'm trying to rebuild / declutter my wardrobe, and I'm frustrated by how everything is cheap plastic. Everyone complains about fast fashion, but it's hard to find alternatives. I know verrrry little comparatively about fashion, but I can tell if something is cheaply made. Even more expensive brands just sell very cheaply made stuff. I would be willing to invest in expensive ethically-made clothing that would last decades, it's just frustrating to find
I guess the end goal is sewing, so I'm working on that and trying to learn.

hey!! im a big big fan of thrifting, I kind of don't buy anything new unless its a huge sale or something I cant get thrifted. Usually jeans in my size. heres some of my fave outfits, i use an app to make these little collages:
everything is thrifted (clothes, shoes, bags) except the jewelry and the fake converse lol. i have no idea what this kind of style is called... mildly edgy? idk. i love blacks, greys, browns, maroons, warm greens, and pale blues the most. what about you?

this is totally true! its actually why i prefer even worn down second hand clothes... the quality is just better. sadly its so expensive to get something that will last you, was ethically made, and the price is good too. im looking for knee length boots or combat boots cuz mine are irreparable and the prices are hurting meee....
i used to sew stuff with my mum on a machine, it was so much fun. also where i used to go to uni offered lots of free courses on basic skills, and one lady helped me repair some jeans. wish this kind of stuff was more accessible because who can just go out and buy a sewing machine?

I loove fashion, but the problem is that I'm broke My dream is to be an it girl and have a ton with money to spend on clothes to dress how weird I wanted. I think that most fashion girls wear weird clothing on purpose, like wear a slip dress, which is a nightgown, to got outside and paired with weird clunky ugly shoes on top of that lol
I like girly, rock/gothic clothing, Korean street fashion (if this is a style, unless when they dress like grandmas) and just basic fashion, something like these:

I love high waisted jeans, since I used to wear a lot of high waisted stuff as a kid because my grandma said that it was the true waist, but my annoying aunt said that I looked weird and as a teen I was a victim of the low waist jeans Now I dress what I like to! I just wanted to wear more skirts and dresses, but I still more comfortable wearing pants when I am walking alone.

Because once a creepy grabbed my inner tight when I was standing in a bus with my mom, and I was wearing a shorts. So now I am always worried, even though is normal where I live to wear bras with mini shorts on the street.

Where I live it isn't even cheap, fast fashion shops are really expensive and if a a shop is international it's even more expensive. Forever 21, per example, I saw how people online keep saying that it was a good brand and fanboying over it or whatever but it's just a regular fast fashion in USA? (That's in 2017-18 before the brand went bankrupt).
Then the local no name brands, that are actually cheap are terrible, everything is even more plastic than Polly Pocket's dresses and are also in terrible bright or neon colours, wth. So I totally feel you with cheap clothing

I love so many different styles of fashion, yet my own fashion is pretty much "t-shirts and shorts" lol. I do explore different fashions through my OCs; I have a raver girl, a pastel goth demon influencer girl, a kidcore golden retriever, et cetera.
Rave is definitely one that fascinates me a lot, all the colors and textures are fun. I could see myself wearing more kidcore stuff though. I need to expand my wardrobe and I am trying to a little at a time.
