My friend had one for a long time, and I thought it was cool how she hosted her OCs and art on it. I wanted to as well. I realized neocities existed and made one at that time. My site was only for art back then.

I got into websites because of blogs (it was 2004 when I created my first blog). I found out about them by reading a W.I.T.C.H magazine where they said "people were creating their own virtual diaries". I immediately fell in love with the idea, hence my girly passion for diaries and stationery and customising things etc etc. Also, my older brother already had had a personal website in the past (in 1997, I was only a year old lol).

Just like some people here, I also had my Neopets phase, but I was far away from those people that created amazing petpages and user lookups. I was only able to use some premade layouts, change fonts, edit images, and basic stuff. I actually never stopped creating blogs, but I was gradually losing my creativity and trying to make them more "professional", which led me to lose interest and end up deleting them.

Due to some recent changes in my life (I moved abroad and I still have no friends in this country), and my disapproval of social media, I decided to create another website again and get involved in this community to find some like-minded people :)

Welcome to the community! It seems like being a Neopets user, past or present, is a very common thing here in the "old-web" community. The NeoPets-to-NeoCities pipline if you will

I hope that you can make friends in your country, both online and offline. :uwu: What was your favorite Neopet species?

True! I wish I could log in again to my Neopets account, but I forgot my password and don't even remember which email I used to create the account (and I probably lost access to the email as well lol). My favourite game/forum community was Gaia Online, tho. I still access the account and everything, but it's so sad that these websites are nearly dying.

My favourite Neopets were definitely Unis! They weren't that popular in the Brazilian community at that time, but I imagine now they might be one of the most popular ones because unicorns are trending. I also loved Cybunnies and Chias, especially the fruit ones.

Thank you!! It was not that bad because I moved in with my husband. We both really wanted to live abroad, and it's been a great experience <3
